Braver Than You Think Retreat - 31/01

A retreat day designed to inspire you to reach for the stars this year


Service Description

This retreat day is inspired by the lessons I've learned through daily sea swimming. It is all about helping you to rediscover your inner strength, that I know is already residing within you. Join me Saturday, 31st January 10am-4.30pm to uncover just how brave YOU are. On September 1st 2019 I decided to commit to getting in the sea every day, as I had experienced the benefits of my cold water swims and didn't want to lose that as the weather got cooler. I had always been scared of the sea, and it would always take me the whole of summer to overcome my fears of jellies, waves and of course, sharks (that's not a joke)...and by then I'd usually decide that it was too cold to continue and the cycle would begin again the following summer. However, with my commitment to getting in every day I learned to face my fears, and received countless (and still do to this day) comments from onlookers, telling me "you're brave" - particularly after dipping on those bleak and frosty winter days! Little did they know, the cold was the last thing putting me off entering the water each day! I have never thought of myself as brave, and probably would have declared the opposite; but I have come to recognise and understand the techniques that I had naturally adopted to help me overcome my fears, and now I'd like to help you to utilise them too. We will use journalling, movement, powerful breathing techniques and guided meditation to overcome any fears or blockages that have been holding you back, to enable you to embrace the challenges that arise, with practical tools to face them with. At the end of the day there will be the option to dip in the sea, so do bring swimwear and a towel in case you'd like to join - there is no pressure, and it is important that you only do what feels safe for you, but I highly recommend bringing clothes and a towel just in case! Everybody is welcome to this day - beginners and advanced practitioners alike. The movement parts of the day will allow for various abilities with lots of options throughout the session, encouraging you to make the practice your own by doing what feels good for you. You will need a pen and paper / journal, it might also be nice to have a blanket, cushions / pillows and a yoga block if you have one. Cancellation Policy

Please read prior to booking; refund policy varies depending on the service booked. Refund available for up to 14 days prior to public events that are up to one day long (e.g. day retreat, yoga & brunch, morning/afternoon workshops, mini-retreats etc.). For events longer than one day: the deposit is non-refundable. If a client decides to cancel a booking, they must email as soon as possible. Cancellations made within 6 weeks of the event are non-refundable. Cancellations made prior to 12 weeks before the event will be eligible for a 50% refund of the total amount due, those made 8 weeks in advance of the event will be eligible for 25% refund of the total amount due. Please note that as deposits are not refundable, any bookings where the deposit amounts to more than 50% will not receive the deposit and the amount refunded may result to less than 50% if cancelled at least 12 weeks in advance. If an event is cancelled on Salt & Light Retreat's behalf, a full refund will be provided.
